AMS student chapter dedicated to investigating problems in pure mathematics
The American Mathematical Society at SUNY New Paltz is an academically focused organization dedicated to pursuing information and research on topics of pure mathematics. Our focus is on higher level mathematical concepts including abstract algebra, real and complex analysis, functional analysis, and differential geometry. We plan to bring in speakers to discuss their research in pure math, and we plan to travel to other schools for conferences related to pure math. We will organize events for students to learn and present concepts related to their research in the field of pure mathematics. AMS chapter at New Paltz is a group specifically for students studying math, and for cross disciplinary students with a strong background in math. Our mission is to introduce advanced concepts to students through independent research and analysis of historically significant problems in mathematics.
